In the new BMBF project "funkiS", energy-efficient function-integrated switching valves are being developed with project partners GPI and Hofmeister Maschinen- und Stahlbau and validated on a machine tool. |
Objective
Motivation
The project aims to develop a function-integrated, highly dynamic valve system for machines and vehicles that ensures the various functions for fluid control as well as energy-optimized use through high control quality and recuperation of auxiliary energy. As a result, energy savings and a reduction in the associated CO2 emissions are expected.
Solution approach
To increase efficiency and dynamics in line with requirements, a new design of the valve unit – in particular the valve geometry and the control of the valve movement – is necessary. This is solved by a completely new approach in the area of the working movement and the control for the setpoint adjustment. In addition to energy storage by capacitors with an oscillating circuit for setpoint adjustment, the project envisages an inertia-reduced, ceramic-based design for the valve spool.
