Content of the course
-
In the course modelling and simulation of mechanical-electrical drive systems the basic competences of modelling for the creation of a three-dimensional multi-body simulation model (MBS) are developed on the basis of different drive systems (e.g. in wind turbines, ship drives, mill drives, crane hoists, railway drives). For this purpose, the methods for determining masses, mass inertia, stiffness and damping are applied. Based on the theoretical principles of modeling, students create their own MBS models of drive systems on the computer using the multi-body system simulation program SIMPACK in order to investigate the dynamic behavior in the frequency and time domain.
