Partner chairs

Construction science and the application of IT in the engineering process are the research priorities at the Chair of Virtual Product Development. Individual research fields are: product lifecycle management, reverse engineering and in the further development of virtual reality for various fields of application.

Chair of Machine Elements

Large capacity drive systems and the necessary machine elements are our passion; at the same time we have just recently participated in some pioneering developments in the watch industry.

Chair in Industrial Design Engineering

Regarding the technical design, professional users are the focus of our work. This is what we call a "user-centred" approach. In the development of technologically sophisticated products, we combine design and construction to innovative complete solutions. We work both creatively and systematically.

The Institute

The Institute of Machine Elements and Machine Design comprises the Chair of Virtual Product Development – Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kristin Paetzold, the Chair of Machine Elements - Prof. Dr.-Ing. Berthold Schlecht and the Chair of Industrial Design Engineering - Professor. Dr.-Ing. Jens Krzywinski.
