GIL Conference 2026 - exciting insights into research combining agricultural engineering and computer science
This week, three researchers from our chair took part in the annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Informatik in der Land-, Forst- und Ernährungswirtschaft (GIL) at the Fachhochschule Südwestfalen in Soest. Andreas Hecker from the Vodafone Chair of Mobile Communications Systems, with whom our department has already collaborated successfully on past projects such as the LANDNETZ experimental field, was also present.
Our colleague Julian Hagert gave a presentation on the "Boniturschwarm" project, which deals with multi-UAV technology for field scouting tasks. The project is part of the LAND.VISION initiative and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space.
The event offered inspiring presentations, exciting discussions and excellent networking opportunities. A big thank you to GIL for organizing this successful event - we are already looking forward to next year!
