Cooperation
The Chair's core research areas, which are also reflected in the current research projects, are in the following areas:
-
Structural elucidation and functionalization of biomacromolecules
-
Innovative food process engineering
-
Zero-waste concepts and product development
- Sensor technology & instrumental analysis
Cooperation with the Chair of Food Engineering
In general, we are available for collaborations of any kind. We have a lot of experience with different project funding, from DFG projects (German Research Foundation), in which the focus is on in-depth basic research, to pre-competitive IGF projects (Industrial Collective Research) with a focus on application. Bilateral research projects, for example as part of ZIM projects, are also possible.
In addition to our project-related research work, we are also happy to provide our expertise and equipment for routine analyses of difficult material systems and for individual questions in the fields of analysis and technology.
Laboratory and pilot plant equipment
- Food processing: small systems for processing plant and animal materials such as grinders, kneaders and measuring kneaders, industrial ovens, crystallization units, three-roll mills, crossflow filtration, membrane filtration, homogenizers, screw presses, laboratory mixers and cutters, cutting tools
- Fermentation: computer-controlled fermentation systems of various volumes with control technology, various microscope systems including fluorescence technology with corresponding image analysis systems, microbiological analyses
- Chemical analyses: GPC-RI/IV, preparative GPC, HPLC-RI/IV,nfrared and fluorescence spectroscopy, Karl Fischer titration, protein determination according to Dumas and Kjeldahl, fat determination according to Twisselmann
