Local woods set the tone

The wood technicians at TU Dresden have developed a technical process that provides native woods such as spruce, maple or cherry with excellent sound properties, making them usable for the construction of acoustic guitars. A special thermal treatment gives the domestic woods at least the same acoustic properties as tropical wood. Learn more

Shipping packaging with thermal insulation made from recycled paper

Materials that are difficult to recycle and harmful to the environment, such as polystyrene, dominate the shipping of foodstuffs that require refrigeration. In a joint R&D project between easy2cool GmbH and AG Papiertechnik, it was possible to develop food-grade insulating fiber mats from paper waste that can be disposed of in the waste paper cycle in an environmentally friendly manner after use. The aim is to develop contour-adaptive suspension pigs for cleaning pipeline systems in food production. These should minimize mixed phases during product changes, adapt to complex pipeline geometries, and provide a safe and resource-efficient alternative to conventional cleaning pigs through their food-based composition. FEI - Plant protein-based foods

Various solidification combinations in plant-based protein models replacing animal-based sausage and cheese products are being investigated. The aim is to improve the texture and quality of these alternatives and increase the acceptance of plant-based foods. Learn more

Das Feldschwarm ÖkoSystem soll erstmalig den automatisierten und gleichzeitigen Betrieb mehrerer Landmaschinen sowie moderner Agrarroboter ermöglichen. Im Zentrum stehen dabei die Bedienerinnen und Bediener, die den Arbeitsprozess auf dem Feld überwachen und jederzeit eingreifen können.
