FNR press release on the Falsa project

Pilot plant of G. Kraft Maschinenbau GmbH for the production of the new lignocellulose-based core material.
Lightweight, stable, sustainable: innovative wood fiber sandwich panel developed for furniture and vehicle construction
In the FALSA project, scientists from TU Dresden and practitioners from G. Kraft Maschinenbau GmbH developed a new type of lignocellulose-based sandwich material and the associated manufacturing process up to the pilot plant stage. The process can be implemented on an industrial scale. With the FALSA panel - the acronym stands for: FAser Longitudinal SAndwich - is a wood fiber material that combines high stability with low weight and reduced material usage.
The joint project between TUD Dresden University of Technology (Chair of Wood Technology and Fiber Materials Technology), G. Kraft Maschinenbau GmbH and STEICO SE ran from March 2021 to September 2024 and was funded by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Home Affairs (BMLEH) via the Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e. V. (FNR).
