The processing and packaging machinery industry is undergoing profound change. Dynamic market demands, new regulatory framework conditions, increasing expectations for sustainability, and technological developments are transforming machinery, materials, and processes alike.
The motto “Transformation on Demand,” VVD 2027 addresses these current industy challenges and invites participants to discuss the technological implications for the processing and packaging machinery industry.
Now in its eleventh year, this scientific conference offers a comprehensive and diverse program that brings together the latest research and development findings from industry and academia. Key topics include the requirements for motion control and robotics, sustainable cleaning technologies, life cycle assessment methods, and innovative fiber-based packaging materials for optimized processes and packaging solutions. In addition, issues related to the growing circular economy will be addressed in the context of the PPWR. Further topics are the processing of polymeric monomaterials and recycled materials, and the potential of artificial intelligence to sustainably increase the efficiency of industrial processes.
Complementing the scientific program, the User Forum offers practical insights into innovative implementation examples and technology platforms for automation. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with interesting startups and learn how AI can not only help address the shortage of skilled workers but also make production processes more agile, efficient, and sustainable overall.
The Processing Machinery and Packaging Technology Conference will take place on March 16 and 17, 2027, in Radebeul/Dresden. As an interdisciplinary forum, it promotes dialogue between industry and research and supports the transfer of knowledge and technology in processing technology and packaging machinery engineering.
