Otto Hänsel Foundation

Stiftungsrat und Preisträger der Otto-Hänsel-Stiftung
Introduction
The Otto Hänsel Foundation was founded in April 2001 by Otto Hänsel jun. and the then Rector of TU Dresden, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Achim Mehlhorn, at the time. The aim of the foundation is to promote training and further education as well as research in the field of processing and packaging technology at TU Dresden and to build a bridge between young academics and industry.
Once a year, the foundation presents awards for outstanding student work: one prize for the best diploma thesis and two prizes for the best student research projects. The award ceremony, which takes place as part of a specialist event, not only recognizes the students' achievements, but also strengthens the visibility and further development of the subject area.
Under the active leadership of Dr. Ralf-Otto Hänsel, the foundation is also committed to building a strong network. The exchange between former award winners and current students is to be intensified in order to promote a sustainable network in the field of processing and packaging machine construction.
