Review of AUTEX 2025 - International textile research as a guest in Dresden
From June 11 to 13, 2025, the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM) at TUD Dresden University of Technology hosted the AUTEX 2025 Conference. Over three days, the renowned international conference brought together leading scientists, industry representatives and young talents from all over the world in Dresden to discuss current developments and future trends in textile research.
AUTEX 2025 focused on innovative research contributions on topics such as sustainable materials, smart textiles, digital production technologies and new applications for technical textiles. The numerous high-caliber presentations and discussions impressively demonstrated the innovative strength and versatility of global textile research.
A particular highlight of the conference was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award, with which AUTEX has been honoring personalities who have made a special contribution to textile science and the Association since 2008. This year, Prof. Vladan Koncar(École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles, France) was honored for his outstanding achievements and many years of commitment.

In addition to the scientific program, AUTEX 2025 also offered plenty of opportunities for personal exchange and international networking. A special social highlight was the conference dinner on Thursday evening, June 12:
During a festive boat trip on the Elbe, the participants enjoyed an atmospheric dinner with a sunset view of the Elbe valley in perfect weather. The day ended with music and dancing on the upper deck in a convivial atmosphere.
We would like to thank all participants, Advisors, partners and supporters who contributed to the success of AUTEX 2025. The event has once again shown how important international exchange is for the further development of textile science.
We are already looking forward to the next AUTEX conference, which will take place in Morocco in 2026.
