Successful defense of the dissertation by Dr.-Ing. Lukas Benecke
On July 2, 2025, Dr.-Ing. Lukas Benecke defended his dissertation "Development of a spinning process for the continuous production of liquid crystalline elastomer fibers with material-intrinsic shape change capacity for functional muscle replacement", which he wrote at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM) at TU Dresden, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Sven Wießner (Institute of Materials Science (IfWW), TU Dresden).

The doctoral thesis was reviewed by Prof. Chokri Cherif (ITM) and Prof. Hans-Peter Wiesmann (IfWW). Prof. Kyosev (ITM) and Prof. Heinrich (Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden e.V., TU Dresden) accompanied the doctoral process as assessors.
