On November 30, 2023, the Walter Reiners Foundation of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association once again awarded the 2023 Promotion and Sustainability Prizes to students and early-career researchers from German universities for outstanding achievements in their studies and doctorates. The sponsorship and creativity prizes, which are awarded nationwide, were presented by Mr. Peter D. Dornier, Chairman of the Board of the Walter Reiners Foundation, to a total of 4 students and early-career researchers in Dresden as part of the Aachen-Dresden-Denkendorf International Textile Conference 2023, which took place from 30.11. - 01.12.2023 in Dresden.

Dipl.-Ing. Dave Kersevan received the Sustainability Award Diploma 2023 for his successfully completed diploma thesis "Development of a laboratory system for the automatic production of needled carbon preforms for fiber-reinforced, rotationally symmetrical high-performance ceramic components" at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology.
The three other awards went to students and scientists from the ITA at RWTH Aachen University and the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.
