Farewell to Dr. Dereje Sitotaw
Today we bid farewell to our colleague Dr. Dereje Berihun Sitotaw, who is returning to Ethiopia to continue his academic career at Bahir Dar University.
As a fellow of the Ethiopian-German “Home Grown” doctoral fellowship program supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Dr. Sitotaw successfully completed and defended his doctoral dissertation (Dr.-Ing.) at our faculty. His dissertation, titled “Contribution to Improving the Protection and Comfort of Stab-Resistant Clothing,” made an important contribution to the field of personal protective equipment.
After completing his doctorate, Dr. Sitotaw continued his research at our department, focusing on the modeling and optimization of protective clothing as well as additive manufacturing.
We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Sitotaw for his valuable contributions, his dedication, and his collaboration over the past few years. We wish him every success in this exciting new chapter of his career and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.
Congratulations, Dr. Sitotaw, and all the best for your future endeavors!
