Application process

  • Current vacancies are advertised annually in the summer (June/July) for training to start in the following year
  • The current vacancies can be found under the following link: Jobs in the apprentice category
  • Application deadline for advertised apprenticeships:
    • October 15 (=application deadline 1)
    • December 15 (=application deadline 2) for vacant positions
  • Applicant selection and interviews take place from September.
  • The contract is concluded following the application process.
  • Start of training: in August of the year following the advertisement.

Remuneration

The apprenticeship is remunerated. Further information on remuneration can be found under the following link: Apprenticeship remuneration

Training program

  • The training consists of a combination of practical and theoretical training.
    • The theoretical part takes place in blocks (2-3 weeks) at the vocational school in Plauen
      • Further information about the vocational school can be found here: BSZ e.o.plauen
      • Travel and accommodation costs are covered by TU Dresden as business travel expenses
    • The practical part is carried out at the Chair of Development and Assembly of Textile Products.

Training after graduation

  • In principle, training is possible after completing a degree (in a different direction).
  • However, we are instructed to recommend people who are able to study, e.g:
    • Mechanical engineering at the TU Dresden
    • Textile and clothing technology at universities of applied sciences such as HS Niederrhein, Albstadt-Sigmaringen, Reutlingen, Zwickau, Berlin
