The Combined Workshop and Experimental Services (WVV) is a key institution in the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering and the overarching unit for workshop and experimental services. These are, in detail:

Since the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering has Institutes spread over a very wide area, the combined workshop and experimental services named above support the Institutes at their different locations and have specialised in their respective profiles.
We manufacture scientific devices and appliances in the individual workshops and experimental fields and ensure their availability throughout their entire service life. We work closely with our scientists as well as the students.
What’s more, we also carry out experiments with them. These range from a parameter search for certain manufacturing processes right through to the determination of material parameters.
Another of our jobs is to offer work placements as part of student training. We are also actively involved in teacher training at TU Dresden.
