Preparation Course for Engineering Sciences

The preparatory course provides new students with the most important foundations before starting to study - especially in mathematics - so that they can start their engineering studies well prepared.

Study Abroad

The School is internationally very well connected and has contacts with numerous foreign colleges and universities, among them 135 Erasmus partner universities, and industry partners. For example, students can participate in an exchange program with the Tongji University in Shanghai (China). In addition, selected courses of study offer double degree possibilities, for example in France, the Czech Republic or Ukraine.

Study Information System

In the Study Information System you can search for courses of study according to various criteria and then view descriptions of the resulting academic programs. Current data for the following winter and summer semesters is published in May on the academic program website. One initial point of contact: the Academic Affairs Office

The Academic Affairs Office Engineering Sciences is the starting point for questions concerning the organisation of studies, for study programmes in the School of Engineering Sciences. Here, the Examinations Office, as well as Study Programme and Course Management, take care of the organisational and administrative processes that make a successful course of studies possible.

Uni testen (Give University a Try) – MINT (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Technology)

What am I interested in? What am I good at? What do I want to do later in life? As part of the program »Uni testen« (Give University a Try) you can take advantage of various offers at the Technische Universität Dresden to find answers to these questions. Pupils can visit laboratories and carry out experiments, check out what the daily life of students is like, get information about academic issues or take part in lectures. As an intern, you can work at an institute or register for early study. Gain some experience at the Technische UniversitätDresden. We look forward to welcoming you.

Pregnant or breastfeeding while studying - maternity protection also applies to female students

Since 1st January 2018, female students have also benefited from the Maternity Protection Act. In order to ensure the best possible health protection, students are asked to notify the responsible study office / examination office about their pregnancy / breast-feeding period as early as possible. Teaching in the School of Engineering Sciences

Close cooperation with business and industry as well as with external research institutes means that students encounter practical, working-world questions early on and can make valuable contacts for their own future careers.

In the School of Engineering Sciences three interdisciplinary and two English-language courses of study are offered in addition to numerous others.

Courses of Study

Would you like to work as an engineer later and help shape the future? The School of Engineering Sciences offers prospective students a diverse range of German and English language engineering study programmes, from Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering to Nanoelectronic Systems or Computational Logic.

Student Information and Councelling Service

The study information and counseling services are located within the faculties. There, prospective students and students will find contact persons who, for example, answer questions about individual timetable design, course of studies, specialisation possibilities or the selection and assignment of places in courses.

Examination Offices

The staff of the Examination Offices support and advise students on all examination matters. Here, for example, you get information about study and examination regulations or receive course achievement certificates and grade transcripts.
