The Collections of TU Dresden's Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections
TU Dresden is home to 40 collections from the fields of science and technology, in addition to extensive art collections.

Collecting and Preserving
The Technische Universität Dresden, one of the oldest technical educational institutes in Germany, guards an substantial number of collections in science and technology as well as extensive art collections. Preserved and maintained by the Office for Academic Heritage in coordination with numerous collection managers - sometimes working on a honorary basis -, these material witnesses to scientific and artistic activity represent an important factor of the university's cultural memory. More recently, going hand in hand with efforts to increase records and inventory, TUD's collections have become the subject of significant plans for collection-based research. The digitalization of the collections offers new perspectives for public accessibility and multilateral networking in keeping with TU Dresden's Mission Statement. As research infrastructures, they are the object of lively interest for interdisciplinary plans pursuant to further scientific exploration of the museum items in the University and their integration into new cultural contexts.
You'll find an overview over TUD's collections on this page.
Additional information on the individual collections in our collection publications, some of which are also available in English. A permanent exhibition at the Office's headquarters displays a cross-section of the collections.
Objects from the collections are published via the digital collection portal of TU Dresden, Universitätssammlungen Online.
