Infoevent: Collection Data in the German Digital Library! (17.11.2025, 10:30-12:00 / online)
The Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek (German Digital Library, DDB), which is funded by the Federal and State governments, has set itself the goal of becoming the national access portal for culture and knowledge in Germany. Today, over 62 million objects from collecting institutions in all cultural sectors can already be searched. The DDB also offers university collections a portal with considerable reach.
The Office for Academic Heritage at TU Dresden is working towards harnessing this platform's potential to give the university's more than 40 collection the visibility they deserve. It has initiated a cooperation that will allow object data records from the robotron*daphne collection database to be delivered to the DDB.
An online information event on Monday, 17.11.2025, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, hosted by the Office for Academic Heritage, the DDB and the Data Competence Center SODa will provide first insights into the cooperation and its potential. Sophie Rölle (DDB) will highlight the requirements from the DDB's point of view. Else Schlegel and other members of TU Dresden will use concrete examples from scientific collections to show what implementation looks like in practice.
Content:
- Legal and organizational requirements (contracts, licenses, data delivery)
- Technical requirements (minimum information, data export, LIDO delivery format)
- Outlook: Use of Data in projects
Time slots are planned for questions and discussions.
