Empowering Women in Academia: Launch of the Charlotte Bühler Program 2026/27
At the end of April 2026, the TUD Dresden University of Technology kicked off the new year of the Charlotte Bühler Program. The one-year funding program is aimed at female postdocs at TU Dresden and female researchers at DRESDEN-concept institutions and supports them with qualification and networking opportunities on their way to a Chair.
Program coordinator Katrin Saure welcomed the participants and spoke about the special challenges of academic career paths for female scientists. In her address, Professor Roswitha Böhm, Vice-Rector University Culture and Internationalization, emphasized the importance of diversity and equal opportunities for excellent research and referred to TU Dresden's other gender equality goals.
The keynote speech by Catherina Becker, Director of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB), who presented her personal career path and research, offered inspiring insights. During the subsequent networking session, the participants were able to talk to each other and make initial contacts. The program's LinkedIn group also offers the opportunity to network with alumnae from previous years.
