GLOBAL HEALTH SPRING SCHOOL DRESDEN 2024
The Department of General Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine at TU Dresden, together with the Institute of Political Science, is organising the interdisciplinary ‘Global Health Initiative - Spring School’ for the second time in March 2024 as a follow-up event to the Global Health - Winter School held in Dresden in March 2023.
The content of the Spring School will include the impact of social determinants of health on well-being, the role of health systems in addressing local and global challenges associated with e.g. health and climate change, migration and conflict. The programme of lectures and workshops will be conducted by lecturers from interdisciplinary and international academic and non-academic professional groups, including the Robert Koch Institute, Doctors Without Borders, WHO, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Gesundheitsamt Dresden, Health for Future Dresden and others.
The target group of the Global Health Initiative-Spring School are all students of TU Dresden. Interprofessional and interdisciplinary learning is facilitated and joint problem-solving is practised. Students will be familiarised with general concepts of global health, e.g. the social determinants of health, the role of primary care and the public health system in ensuring universal health coverage, and the role of the public health system in ensuring universal health coverage.
