Collaboration with Shinshu University extended until 2024
By signing a memorandum of understanding in September 2021, the successful collaboration of the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus with Shinshu University in Matsomoto, Japan will be extended until 2024. The partnership is an important pillar of the international orientation of the Faculty of Medicine and contributes to the further internationalization of the TU Dresden as a science hub.
The cooperation will continue to focus on the exchange of scientists and students and improve the opportunities for joint research projects. In recent years, students have had positive experiences at Shinshu University and benefited greatly from their exchanges. One student emphasized the work ethic and helpfulness of her Japanese colleagues as having a decisive influence on her ensuing medical career in Germany. Another student experienced the differences in the health care systems as a great enrichment and was able to benefit notably from the different approaches, especially in the field of epidemiology.
Building on previous experiences, the exchange will be improved and intensified with the new memorandum of understanding through various structures. The expansion of the cooperation with Shinshu University lays the foundation for a long-term and intensive partnership from which further outstanding collaborations are expected to emerge in the future.
