New transCampus Project in Neonatal Medicine

In July this year, Prof. Theodore Dassios of King’s College London visited the Department of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Care at the Hospital for Children's and Youth Medicine, University Hospital Dresden. With his visit, a new transCampus project in feto-neonatal medicine is taking a more concrete shape. Scientists from both Dresden and London will be working together on clinical as well as scientific questions.

With the lowest newborn mortality rate for many years, Saxony has been a nationwide pioneer in the care of premature and sick newborns. “This makes it all the more important that we continue to work on improving the care of our little patients,” says Prof. Mario Rüdiger, head of the Department of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Care. “For this reason, we have established a very intensive clinical and scientific collaboration with international experts in order to jointly develop new therapeutic options.” This international cooperation is now also manifesting itself in the new transCampus project.
