MIRACUM-DIFUTURE Symposium 2025

ZMI and Trust Agency at the MiDi Symposium
Dresden expertise in focus at the 3rd MIRACUM-DIFUTURE Symposium 2025
On September 30 and October 1, 2025, the 3rd MIRACUM-DIFUTURE Symposium – MIDISymp2025 – took place at Chemnitz University of Technology. Under the motto “Share data, live science, strengthen democracy,” around 180 experts from the fields of medicine, research, and digitalization discussed the future of medical informatics.
An 11-member team from Dresden University Hospital (HSMD) was on site, consisting primarily of the Center for Medical Informatics (ZMI) and the Trust Office of the Technical University of Dresden. Our Dresden researchers provided impetus through presentations, session chairs, and in the panel discussion:
Prof. Dr. Martin Sedlmayr (Director of ZMI Dresden)
🔹 Opening & welcome
🔹 Chair of the session DIGITAL PROGRESS HUBS & YOUNG TALENT GROUPS

Prof. Dr. Martin Sedlmayr
Dr. Ines Reinecke (Head of DIZ Dresden)
🔹 Chair of the session FROM THE REGION
🔹 Lecture: “Sustainability concept & service portfolio of DIZ Dresden”

Dr. Ines Reinecke
Philipp Heinrich (Head of Independent Trust Agency TU Dresden)
🔹 Lecture: “Obtaining MII Broad Consent – Organizational & technical solutions”

Philipp Heinrich
Dr. Saskia Metan (TU Dresden)
🔹 Participation in the panel discussion of the session DATA DEMOCRACY & GOVERNANCE
The symposium offered deep insights into current developments in medical informatics and the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) and served as a platform for exchange between science, clinics, and practice. The strong participation from Dresden shows that the HSMD plays a key role in digital health research.
Many thanks to the hosts, the MIRACUM Consortium and the DIFUTURE Consortium, for a successful event!
