Networking of Junior Research Groups in Medical Informatics: A Dialogue on Synergies and Career Opportunities - Guest Appearance on the Podcast "Digitalization in Medicine"
In a new episode of the podcast "Digitalization in Medicine," Katja Weber speaks with Dr. Brita Sedlmayr and Anne Seim from the Institute of Medical Informatics and Biometry at TU Dresden about their work on networking activities for the 21 junior research groups funded within the framework of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII).
The networking project began in October 2023. The goal of networking is to encourage interdisciplinary projects, increase the visibility of the groups, and create valuable career opportunities for young researchers. Building connections and participating in conferences, made possible through these collaborations, are of particular importance. Since September 2023, the junior research group "CDS2USE," led by Dr. Brita Sedlmayr, has been actively involved in organizing and coordinating these networking activities.
In the episode, Dr. Brita Sedlmayr and Anne Seim discuss the practical aspects of networking, the challenges they face, and how they experience collaboration with other groups. They also provide insights into their own responsibilities and the dynamics within their research group.
