How are the students? Take part now – scientific survey about health
How are the students at TU Dresden? What health problems do they experience during their studies? How do they stay fit? The Institute and the Polyclinic for Occupational and Social Medicine at the TU Dresden is currently conducting a survey as part of the TUDo! Study. Objective of the study is to learn more about the health situation of the students and to tailor the health offer to the needs of the students in close cooperation with the University Health Management.
Health plays an important role in every stage of life - also during university life. A survey by the Institute and Polyclinic for Occupational and Social Medicine at the TU Dresden, sponsored by the AOK PLUS, asks about the state of health of TUD students. A first inventory was made some time ago. The current survey therefore aims to identify possible changes. "Health is a dynamic process - positively and negatively influenced by many situations and factors," explains Dr. Maria Girbig, coordinator of the TUDo! project.
All students of the TU Dresden - except those of the faculty of medicine - can take part in the survey starting 20th of June until 20th of July. The collected information is going to align the health offers of the TUD with the needs of its students. The survey addresses the general but also study-related health situation of the TUD students. This enables the identification of stress and strain on students at the TU Dresden and thus also of the necessary preventive and health promotion measures.
"The more students take part in the survey, the greater the validity of the results," says Dr. Girbig, pointing out that all information is of course based on anonymity and voluntarily. A high participation rate from the different departments also makes it possible to identify problem areas within the university.
