Workshop on Medical Care for Home Care Providers
In the Live-in Health research project, we are examining the working and health conditions of foreign caregivers in private households. The study is a collaborative project between IPAS, the University of Leipzig, and Charité Berlin.
We are now looking forward to a workshop on the project, which will take place on October 2, 2026, at the joint annual conference of the DGSMP, DEGAM, DGMS, and EbM Gesundheit gestalten.
In the third and final phase of the project, we are currently developing informational flyers designed to draw attention to the specific workloads faced by this professional group and to provide practical advice on how to address them. The flyers are being developed in collaboration with the Department of General Practice at TU Dresden and with the input of practicing family physicians.
The goal of the workshop is to finalize the materials together. We also want to discuss with participants how the flyers can be effectively integrated into the daily routine of family practice.
Migrant caregivers make an important contribution to home care in Germany—often under stressful conditions and without adequate protection. Through this project, we aim to help promote fair and healthy working conditions for this professional group.
