INVITE
The birth of a child brings with it many new and unfamiliar things and is a life event that involves an enormous physical and psychological adjustment for the mother. The first few months can not only be wonderful, but also challenging and stressful for mothers. Nevertheless, little was known about how women can best be supported during this time. The aim of the DFG-funded INVITE study, which has now been completed, was to investigate the use of care and counseling services for women after childbirth. Women's health and other factors that support access to suitable services were researched.
The publications resulting from the project can be found here: Publications of FB6.
Between November 2020 and February 2024, we were able to interview a total of 4624 women by telephone three to four months after giving birth about their care and counseling preferences. This extensive data collection allowed us to examine women's postpartum health behaviors, care and counseling preferences, and related factors. The results can then help to improve postnatal care services for mothers.
The INVITE study is also part of the international INTERSECT study, which aims to improve obstetric care worldwide. Find out more about this exciting project in the following film: to the video
