INVITE
The birth of a child entails a lot of new and unfamiliar experiences. For mothers, it is a life event that is associated with enormous physical and psychological adjustment. The first months may therefore not only be wonderful, but also challenging and stressful. However, it is hardly known how women can best be supported during this time. The aim of the DFG-funded INVITE study is to examine the utilization of treatment and counseling services for women after giving birth. Our aim is to research women's health and other factors that support access to suitable care.
We were able to survey a total of 4,624 women by telephone three to four months after birth about their care and advice preferences between November 2020 and February 2024. This extensive data collection allows us to examine women's postpartum health behaviors, their care and advice preferences, and associated factors. The results can then help to improve postpartum care for mothers.
The INVITE study is also part of the international study INTERSECT, with the objectiv to improve obstetrics worldwide. Find out more about this exciting project in the following film: watch the video
