The MSNZ is part of the Dresden School of Clinical Science (DSCS), whose task is to bundle and support the funding structures of the Medical Faculty for scientific career paths in university medicine. The DSCS creates interfaces between clinically and scientifically trained researchers and between early career and advanced scientists from various disciplines. It aims to inspire young physicians to take an interest in science and to accompany them on their career path as clinician scientists. The DSCS also supports early career scientists (medical scientists) who deal with patient-related topics and whose research bridges the gap between the understanding of mechanisms and the treatment of diseases.
The DSCS creates optimal conditions for close and sustainable cooperation between clinical research and biomedical basic research through interdisciplinary and interprofessional communication platforms and the bundling of curricula.
Support
At the Research Department information on funding measures at the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus can be found. The service for researchers offers targeted support and advice on various funding opportunities.
There are also established programs at the Medical Faculty that promote equal opportunities for scientists.
Carus Campus is an alumni and support network that acts as an interface between the university hospital and the Medical Faculty and offers various services (childcare, sports or international offers).
The Dresden concept brings together partners from research, infrastructure, education and administration to establish projects such as the Dresden Genome Center, the DRESDEN-concept Welcome Center at TU Dresden or the Dresden Technologieportal.
Graduate Programs
Structured doctoral programs are offered by the Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering (DIGS-BB) and the Carus Promotionskolleg of the Medical Faculty of the TU Dresden.
The Else-Kröner Research College is a Clinician Scientist program of the Medical Faculty, which provides clinicians with protected research time at the beginning of their residency.
