Cooperations
- At the Faculty of Medicine at TU Dresden, there is direct and very close cooperation with other working groups at the Institute of Physiology. There is an intensive exchange at the level of data collection in the laboratory through to the mathematical analysis of the issues investigated.
- Due to the wide range of possibilities, HPLC/UPLC analysis is also used in cooperation with other research groups at the Carl Gustav Carus Medical Faculty, Dresden University Hospital and other external groups.
- There is a close collaboration with the Institute of Food Chemistry under the direction of Prof. Dr. Thomas Henle in order to further clarify the effects of bioactive peptides and to determine their possible use for prevention purposes. In addition, further research into the use of bioactive peptides in veterinary medicine is being carried out in collaboration with the company PuraPep.
- The analysis and modeling of the adenine nucleotide metabolism is carried out in close interaction with Prof. Dr. Andreas Deußen. In addition, we cooperate with the group of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schrader at the University of Düsseldorf to analyze phenomena of extracellular nucleotide and nucleoside metabolism (most recently on various tumor cell lines) with the help of mathematical models. We are also cooperating with Dr. Manfred Boehm from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Washington (USA) to analyze the calcification of blood vessels.
- For more than 20 years, we have been working closely with Prof. Dr. Albrecht Schwab from the Institute of Physiology at the University of Münster on the analysis of cell migration, particularly with regard to the influence of ion channels and transporters on cell dynamics.
- Bayesian data analysis is one of the focal points of this working group. There is a long-standing collaboration with Dr. Roland Preuss from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching.
- With Dr. Rainer Klages from the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University London, work is being carried out on the anomalous dynamics of cell migration. Together with him and Prof. Dr. Aleksei Chechkin from the Institute of Theoretical Physics in Kharkov, Ukraine / University of Potsdam, fundamental theoretical studies are being developed for application to living systems, such as the investigation of fluctuation relationships.
