First year progress
One year after the start of the COMBAT-PDAC project, members of the consortium met in Dresden for their second face-to-face meeting. Participants travelled from Marseille, Milan and Barcelona to join the two groups based in Dresden. Those who could not attend in person participated via video link. The team presented its initial results, demonstratingthat significant progress had already been made.
Having everyone present their work at the same time enabled the consortium to identify opportunities for closer collaboration more easily, demonstrating that this consortium is more than the sum of its parts. Bringing everyone together in one room also made it easier to plan material exchanges and map out the work for the coming year.
COMBAT PDAC face-to-face meeting 2026
Herr Lutz Otto from the Arbeitskreis der Pankreatektomierten (a patient support group for people who have undergone pancreatic surgery, including those receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer) had been invited but was unable to attend. Instead, Herr Otto is scheduled to meet with individual members of the consortium later in June to discuss the significance of the project's work for those affected by pancreatic cancer and to contribute the perspectives and needs of pancreatectomized patients.
The next face-to-face meeting is planned for 2027 in Marseille.
