We are saddened by the loss of Hassan Mziaut, who passed away suddenly last week

He was member of the lab since its beginning and an outstanding colleague. He provided groundbreaking contributions to the field of β-cell biology by discovering and elucidating the ICA512 signalling pathway as the mechanism to gauge insulin secretory granule biogenesis, exocytosis, and turnover as well as β-cell mass in relationship to metabolic demands. He was also a passionate teacher who devoted his time to train and advise the next generation of students.  

We will miss him.
