Information booth for World Diabetes Day -
inform, exchange, identify risks
November 14 is World Diabetes Day and the birthday of Frederick Banting, the discoverer of the vital hormone insulin. In 2007, this day was designated as a day of action by the WHO and the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to draw attention to the rising number of diabetes cases worldwide and to provide information about prevention and treatment options.
The researchers of the Paul Langerhans Institute Dresden (PLID) of Helmholtz Munich at the University Hospital and the Carl Gustav Carus Medical Faculty of TU Dresden want to use this day to engage with you. Visit our information booth and discover everything you need to know about diabetes. You will find us between 11am and 2pm in front of the entrance to the Caruso staff restaurant (Building 22) on the campus of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus (Fiedlerstraße, 01307, Plus Code: 3Q4J+98 Dresden).
We offer you:
-
Valuable information on the prevalence, prevention, symptoms and treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
-
Experts on site: Meet experienced diabetes researchers and ask your questions directly.
-
Insights into current research: Find out which research projects PLID scientists and doctors are working on to improve the lives of people with diabetes.
-
Interactive offers: Take part in the “DIfE German Diabetes Risk Test(R)” and determine your individual diabetes risk on site.
Come along, talk to us and do something good for your health - we look forward to seeing you!
