Research

Our focus is on stress responses, antibiotic resistance, phenotypic heterogeneity and differentiation processes. To this end, we work on three different levels: molecular biology, systems biology and synthetic biology.

Outreach

With exhibitions, hands-on activities and workshops, we provide access to the hidden microcosm. Our formats are aimed at schoolchildren, teachers and anyone who wants to experience science. We invite you to discover microbiology and current research – through interactive projects such as Bakteriopolis or in conversation with researchers.

Teaching

We are involved in lectures and practical training courses at both undergraduate and advanced levels in bachelor's and master's programmes. We also support the student iGEM competition.
