Ring of vivarium schools

We are a member of the Ring der Vivariumschulen, an association of committed teachers who want to promote the use of animals in biology lessons and their keeping and care at schools.

We particularly value the intensive exchange on animal husbandry and the use of animals in schools. The annual conference is a special highlight and will take place at petZ in 2026.

Citizen Conservation

In cooperation with Citizen Conservation, we keep and breed Central European fire salamanders, Loiselle's cichlids and Madagascar rainbowfish at petZ. You can find out how we contribute to the protection of these endangered species here.

Dresden Zoo

Topics such as responsible animal husbandry, education involving live animals, and species conservation are just as important to us as they are to Dresden Zoo. That is why we are in close contact and also offer a joint course with the “Zoological Garden” module.
