Research keeping pace with the times

The research topics of the Faculty of Biology range from genetic and cell biological, physiological, developmental and biomimetic aspects to questions of organismic and population biology. Some projects also deal with questions of biodiversity. Research concerns a wide range of organisms, from archaea and bacteria to eukaryotes (yeasts, plants and animals). At our institute, basic research and research with a clear application focus are not mutually exclusive.
