9th international championship in road bowling
The 9th international championship in road bowling took place on the 30th of November 2018. For the first time, the competition was conducted in cross-bowling fashion on the dirt track along the Prießnitz, a tributary of the Elbe River.
a complicated corner?
The participants were sheltered of wind and rain by the valey of the stream but this geography should lead to major problems. Three teams started the competition.

The new track required the participants more “reading” of the track but also more force during the throws.

Eventually, the track changed the fortune of team red of captain Dipl.-Ing. Schulze. A treacherous bend and the deep river bed swallowed the ball of the team, which could not be recovered in the torrential stream.

Subsequently, the competition had to be restarted. Finally, team blue of captain Dr. Holz won with 2 throws ahead of team yellow of Prof. Jordan.
A concluding meeting was held in the restaurant Lila Soße in Dresdens Neustadt’s Kunsthofpassagen for discussion of tactics and suitable throwing techniques.
