Short Biography:
Prof. Shadi W. Hasan is the Director of the Center for Membranes and Advanced Water Technology (CMAT) and Associate Professor of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at Khalifa University. He is a Co-Founder of the Water Intelligence Testing Center (WITC) and Theme Lead for "Water Technology" at the Research and Innovation Center for Graphene and 2D Materials (RIC-2D). Prof. Hasan's expertise includes desalination, wastewater treatment, nanomaterials, membranes, and energy-efficient water processes. He has authored over 200 journal publications, filed 10 patent applications, co-edited 1 book, and contributed to 15 book chapters. His research has secured multiple funding opportunities and has resulted in numerous collaboration initiatives with institutions like MIT, Harvard, and Yale. Prof. Hasan has supervised 60+ students and researchers, received awards including FQRNT, and been recognized as a top 2% Scientist by Stanford University since 2020.
