Travel
Hotels are easy to find in Dresden: e.g. TU Dresden guesthouse "Am Weberplatz"; IBIS Dresden (large). 
Trains go to Dresden Hauptbahnhof; then it's 2-3 stops south on frequent buses (e.g. #66) to the stop "Technische Universität Dresden".
Flights go to Dresden airport (DRS) (then SBahn S1 for 30 min to HBF and bus for 5 min; or taxi for 30 min); alternatively fly Berlin Brandenburg (BER) then train to Dresden HBF (90-120 min).
