Dr. Vinita Bhardwaj was born in India. She completed her Ph. D in 2022 from national Institute of Technology, Surat India. During her Ph. D research, she worked on the development of fluorescence sensors by adopting both nano and supramolecular approaches. She used fluorescent nanoparticles for the sensing of environmental and biological significant species. Using the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) phenomenon to develop fluorescent sensors, she applied them for sensing and detection. Her research interests include sensing, ligand design, Quantum dots, nano, and supramolecular chemistry.

Forschung
I am interested in the electronic structure and spectroscopic properties of semiconductor nanocrystals and coupled nanocrystal arrays. These nanostructured exhibit strongly size-dependent properties such as quantum confinement of excited charge carriers that make them attractive for applications such as solar cells, LEDs, phototransistors, and lasers. It is important to study the interaction between nanoparticles in order to integrate them into electronic devices with predictable results and high efficiency.

Quantum Dot | Size Calculator for iPhone and iPod touch is a tool to quickly calculate the size and concentration of Zn and Cd chalcogenide nanocrystals from the absorption spectrum. A choice of three published algorithms is offered. |

Nach anschließender Funktionalisierung mit einem speziell entwickeltem Tetrazolliganden wird mittels Metallionen-induzierter Komplexierung ein Hydrogel gebildet. Durch überkritische Trocknung kann dieses in ein Aerogel überführt werden.

Research topics
The focal point of my research is the investigation of semiconductor nanomaterials regarding their electronic structure by means of electrochemical methods. In particular the spectroelectrochemistry proves itself as a very powerful tool because of its capability to determine absolute energetic positions of valence and conduction band states. Therefore I focus on the development of models, which include different shapes and compositions of these nanostructures, to describe the particles electrochemical behavior.

Die Anwendung von Nanomaterialien hat sich in den letzten Jahren als vorteilhaft erwiesen und umfasst die Anwendung in der Optoelektronik, Energiekonversation und Katalyse. In dem Projekt ist die Synthese von III-V Halbleiter Nanopartikeln mit unterschiedlicher Form und Größe das Ziel. Darauf basierend schließt sich eine umfassende Charakterisierung mittels optischer Spektroskopie, Kryoskopie, XRD, TEM und anderen an.
