Guest lecture: Prof. Dr. Xiaodong Xu & Prof. Dr. Lifeng Chi
The consortium of the Collaborative Research Centere 1415 is delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Lifeng Chi, Soochow University, China, and Prof. Xiaodong Xu, University of Washington, USA.
Prof. Xiaodong Xu reported about "Elasto van der Waals Magnet", which have developed emerged as a powerful platform for exploring fundamental spin physics and potential applications in electrical and optical-driven spin-based devices. Among other things, he reported on the recent progress in tuning the magnetic properties of the newly discovered magnetic semiconductor CrSBr through uniaxial strain.
Prof. Dr. Lifeng Chi dedicated herself to the topic "From n-Alkanes toConjugated Polyenes and is Extension via On-surface Chemistry". Within the frame of her talk, she emphasized on-surface chemistry as an emerging interdisciplinary discipline, which shows the great potential in breaking through limitations of traditional chemical synthesis and accurately preparing functional molecular nanostructures.
We thank Prof. Xiaodong Xu and Prof. Dr. Lifeng Chi for your presentations and thank all participants for coming.
