Start-up Funding 2025: Dr. Eunji Jin & Dr. Hongde Yu
The Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1415 awards Dr. Eunji Jin, Technische Universität Dresden, Chair of Inorganic Chemistry I, and Dr. Hongde Yu, Technische Universität Dresden, Chair of Theoretical Chemistry, with the Start-up Funding 2025.
With the Start-up Funding, the CRC 1415 supports and promotes the career of the young scientist and offers them the opportunity to develop independence by working on their own project and to focus on the preparation of individual first proposals.
Dr. Eunji Jin is joined Prof. Dr. Stefan Kaskel's group at Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) as a postdoctoral researcher in 2022, after receiving her PhD from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology in 2021. Since 2023, she has been working under the prestigious Maria Reiche Postdoctoral Fellowships at TUD. Her research focuses on metal-organic polyhedra, which are discrete 0D cage molecules, and their assembly into 2D monolayers and extended 3D frameworks with unprecedented physical properties. Her research project „Precisely Controlled 2D Monolayer Engineering based on Metal-Organic Polyhedron and Applications“ aims to engineer precisely controlled 2D monolayers based on metal-organic polyhedra (MOPs) and their potential usage for gas separation and catalysis applications.
Dr. Hongde Yu is a computational chemist specializing in metal-free magnetism and quantum materials. He earned his PhD in physical chemistry from Tsinghua University, China, in 2021 and has been a Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at TU Dresden, in Prof. Dr. Thomas Heine’s group, since 2022. His research project „Metal-free Magnetism in Organic 2D Crystals: Ferromagnetism and Altermagnetism“ aims to explore magnetic organic 2D crystals (O2DCs) with strong magnetic couplings and spin-splitting.
The consortium of CRC 1415 is looking forward to working together!
