The research at the chair focuses on the design of methods for diverse problems in the field of Optimisation (on topics like Karush Kuhn Tucker systems, antenna beamforming, or cutting and packing problems) as well as on the study and improvement of algorithms regarding their convergence behavior (like conditions for local and global convergence, numerical efficiency or bounds for optimal values). We work at challenging projects and cooperate with partners in Germany and from abroad, often with respect to applications. The research at the chair and many cooperations lead to exciting topics for Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral thesis.
