Applied Optimization in Research and Science

The research group focuses on optimization problems involving nonsmooth data. This nonsmoothness can arise from the nature of the problem—as in data science, for example—or from the problem formulation—as in hierarchical optimization, for instance. Our goal is the theoretical characterization and numerical identification of minimizers for such problems. Here, we provide an overview of our research areas and results. We also discuss our commitment to the scientific community.
