MMAM -- Numerics for singularly perturbed differential equations
Lectures:
Tuesday, 09:20 - 11:10 (2nd DS), Z21/242
Friday, 09:20 - 10:50 (2nd DS), Z21/380Content of the lecture
How to find a numerical approximate solution to a given singularly perturbed differential equation? Their solutions are characterized by the presence of boundary layers whose approximation is analytically and numerically challenging. We will look at approximation methods for both ordinary and partial differential equations. -
Teaching seminar
(Module MN-SEGY/SEBS-MAT-SEM, MN-SEMS-MAT-SEMMS)
Seminar: Thursday, 16:40 - 18:10 (6.DS), Z21/243
Content of the seminar
A colorful bouquet of numerical algorithms
Contents:
Using the book "Numerik-Algorithmen" by Engeln-Müllges, Niederdrenk and Wodicka, we want to look at the approximate calculation of various areas of mathematics using algorithms and understand and apply them.
