A diffuse-interface approach for coupled bulk/surface systems in multiphase flow
Multiphase flow systems are strongly influenced by transport processes along the lower dimensional fluidic interface. These processes include e.g. adsorption effects from the bulk phases and transport of species on the interface. Variable surface properties, such as surface tension, which can depend on these species, can strongly influence the bulk flow. We consider these coupled effects using phase-field like mathematical models.
