We organize workshops, seminars and symposia on national and international level to foster discussions and the exchange of ideas.

2018

Workshop on “Mathematics of thin structures (Modeling, Analysis and Simulation)”.

Together with Oliver Sander and Axel Voigt we organize this international workshop with the goal to bring together mathematicians and physicists working on the modeling, math-
ematical analysis and numerics of models in mechanics, physics and biology that invoke
thin structures and physical processes therein. The workshop is scheduled for September 2018 and takes place in Dresden. More information can be found here.

2017

RIMS Gasshuku-style Seminar

Together with Ryoki Fukushima (RIMS Kyoto, Japan) we organize an international workshop on "Large scale properties of partial differential equations with random coefficients". More information will provided soon.

Workshop on "Multiscale problems and relaxation in nonlinear elasticity"

Together with Antoine Gloria (Brussels) we organize a workshop on homogenziation- and  relaxation problems in nonlinear elasticity. It will take place in Dresden at July 4 - 5 2017. More information can be found here.

BDPW-Workshops

With the Berlin Dresden Prague Würzburg Workshops we bring together researchers (in particular young scientists) from the above mentioned regions interested in the analysis, modeling and simulation of materials, multiscale and evolution problems, continuum mechanics and related fields.

The workshops are organized by M. Kruzik (Prague), A. Mielke (Berlin), S. Neukamm (Dresden) and A. Schlömerkemper (Würzburg) and will take place on regular basis (once or twice a year) in one of these cities.

Other Activities

May 2016

Minisymposium "Modern Aspects of Homogenization" @ SIAM MS16

At the SIAM Conference of "Mathematical Aspects of Materials Science" 2016 (Philadelphia) Stefan Neukamm organized an international Minisymposium on "Modern Aspects of Homogenization".
