September 22-24, 2025
Faculty of Mathematics, TU Dresden
Table of contents
Scientific Scope
Since over a decade, the GAMM Activity Group on Partial Differential Equations and Calculus of Variations (and its predecessor founded in 2013) has provided a platform for exchanging recent advances in the analysis of PDEs, the Calculus of Variations, and their role in the formulation of mathematical models in the sciences. The annual workshop brings together leading experts and early-career researchers to discuss current challenges and emerging developments in the field.

Getting to Dresden
There are several ways to get to Dresden:
By Train
You can find possible connections here: Deutsche Bahn (to "Dresden Hbf").
By Coach
You can take a Flixbus to Dresden central station (Dresden Hauptbahnhof).
By Aeroplain
- Dresden: Dresden has its own airport (code: DRS). From (DRS) you can take the S2 (towards Pirna) to get to the main station. Simply get a single ticket (Ticket zone Dresden) from the DVB which costs about 3€. Tickets can be purchased at the yellow ticket machines or online on Deutsche Bahn (from "Dresden Flughafen" to "Dresden Hbf").
- Berlin: It may be more economical to fly to Berlin (BER) instead of Dresden. From BER Berlin Brandenburg Airpor you can take the S45 towards "Berlin Südkreuz" and change there into an ICE (fast train) which takes you to Dresden Hbf. There are also some direct ICE connections directly from the airport. Deutsche Bahn (from "Berlin Flughafen" to "Dresden Hbf"). The journey takes about 3h-4h. You may also want to check out if there is a Flixbus heading to Dresden. These take about 2h40m, see Flixbus.
- Prague: It may be more economical to fly to Prague (PRG) instead of Dresden. You can take a bus (the 119) calling directly in front of the exit from the airport towards the station "Nádraží Veleslavín." There you can switch to the Metrolines which take you to the main station after one additional change or a small walk. From the main station in Prague there are regular trains and Flix buses which bring you to Dresden Hbf. Getting from the airport in Prague to Dresden Hbf usually takes 3h5min to 4h30m.
