Ideas for the Future
The Chair of Optoelectronics at the Institute for Applied Physics explores fascinating perspectives in organic electronics: razor-thin solar cells applied to foils, electronic circuits that are simply printed like ink, and tiny lasers that can even be integrated into living cells are just one Part of the amazing apps.
The chair has been promoting research on organic optoelectronics in the Dresden region for over 20 years: It is part of the university research network Dresden Integrated Center for Applied Physics and Photonic Materials (IAPP) and co-founder of the regional research catalyst Organic Electronics Saxony e.V. (OES). Several successful spin-offs from high-tech companies that are now established on the market took place from here.
At the Chair of Optoelectronics there are currently (as of July 2021) around 80 students and employees working in several working groups.
