Construction Begins at the Recknagel-Bau: New Labs for Cutting-Edge Research at TU Dresden

We’re excited to announce that construction work has officially started in the Recknagel-Bau! As part of a major renovation project, the B-wing is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul, including a new roof, state-of-the-art laboratories, and modern office spaces.

Among the upcoming facilities are brand-new laboratories dedicated to time-resolved optical spectroscopy, low-temperature physics, and scanning probe microscopy –experiments that will further strengthen our capabilities in condensed matter research at TU Dresden.

We are proud and grateful that this ambitious upgrade is being made possible through generous funding from the Free State of Saxony and TU Dresden.

Construction began in March and is expected to be completed by autumn 2025. Please note that increased noise levelsare anticipated during this time, especially in May and June. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we work toward an exciting future for research at TU Dresden!
